These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of carpet, upholstery and related cleaning services by Carpet Cleaning Shepherd's Bush to residential and commercial customers within its service area. By booking a service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a booking.
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following words shall have the meanings set out below:
1.1 Customer means the individual or business who books the services.
1.2 Company means Carpet Cleaning Shepherd's Bush, the cleaning service provider.
1.3 Services means carpet cleaning, rug cleaning, upholstery cleaning and any additional services agreed between the Company and the Customer.
1.4 Premises means the property or location where the Services are to be carried out.

2. Scope of Services
2.1 The Company provides professional cleaning services for carpets, rugs, upholstery and related soft furnishings within its designated service area, including Shepherd's Bush and nearby locations.
2.2 The exact Services to be provided will be agreed at the time of booking and confirmed in writing or via a booking confirmation. Any additional work requested on the day of service is subject to the Company's availability and may incur extra charges.
2.3 The Company will use reasonable care and skill in delivering the Services, using suitable cleaning methods and products appropriate for the item and level of soiling, as reasonably determined by the Company.
3. Booking Process
3.1 Bookings can be made by the Customer through the Company's accepted booking channels. By submitting a booking request, the Customer warrants that the information provided is accurate, complete and not misleading.
3.2 A Booking is only confirmed once the Customer has received confirmation from the Company. The Company reserves the right to decline or cancel any Booking at its discretion, including but not limited to situations where the Premises are outside the normal service area or where safe access cannot be reasonably assured.
3.3 The Customer must provide accurate details about the Premises, including property type, number and size of rooms or items to be cleaned, presence of pets, parking availability and any known issues such as previous damage, heavy staining, infestation or restricted access.
3.4 The Customer is responsible for ensuring that the person making the Booking has the authority to do so and to accept these Terms and Conditions on behalf of the Customer.
4. Access to the Premises
4.1 The Customer must ensure that the Company has safe, free and timely access to the Premises at the agreed time. This includes providing access codes, keys or arranging for someone to be present to grant entry.
4.2 Where parking restrictions apply, the Customer is responsible for arranging suitable parking for the Company's vehicle. Any parking charges or penalties incurred as a result of insufficient or incorrect parking facilities will be charged to the Customer.
4.3 If the Company is unable to gain access to the Premises at the agreed time, or if access is delayed for more than 20 minutes through no fault of the Company, the visit may be cancelled or shortened at the Company's discretion, and a call-out or cancellation charge may apply.
5. Customer Obligations
5.1 The Customer must remove all fragile, valuable or easily damaged items from the areas to be cleaned prior to the arrival of the Company. This includes ornaments, small furniture, electronic equipment, personal belongings and any items that could obstruct the cleaning process.
5.2 Larger furniture items may be moved at the Company's discretion where safe and practical to do so. The Company is under no obligation to move heavy or delicate items such as wardrobes, pianos, large display cabinets or electrical appliances.
5.3 The Customer must inform the Company of any known defects, existing damage or special conditions at the Premises, including but not limited to loose floor coverings, delamination, weak seams, unstable furniture, previous stains, colour-run issues or any surfaces or fabrics that are particularly sensitive to moisture or cleaning agents.
5.4 The Customer must ensure that electricity and running water are available at the Premises during the visit. If these utilities are not available, the Company may cancel the visit and apply a cancellation charge.
6. Pricing and Quotations
6.1 Prices for Services may be provided as a fixed quotation or as an estimate based on the information supplied by the Customer.
6.2 The Company reserves the right to amend the price if the information provided by the Customer is inaccurate or incomplete, or if the actual condition or size of the items to be cleaned differs materially from that described.
6.3 Any variation in price will be agreed with the Customer before work commences. If the Customer does not agree to the revised price, the Company may cancel the Booking, and a call-out or cancellation charge may be applied to cover time and travel costs.
7. Payments
7.1 Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking. Unless agreed otherwise, payment is due on completion of the Services on the same day.
7.2 The Company may accept payment by cashless methods or other methods as advised by the Company. The Company is under no obligation to accept cheques or payment by instalments.
7.3 For business customers or larger jobs, the Company may require a deposit or full prepayment before confirming the Booking. Where an invoice is issued, payment is due within the stated payment period.
7.4 If payment is not received when due, the Company reserves the right to charge interest and reasonable recovery costs in accordance with applicable UK law. The Company may also suspend or cancel any future bookings until outstanding amounts are settled.
8. Cancellations and Rescheduling
8.1 The Customer may cancel or reschedule a Booking by giving notice to the Company through an accepted communication channel.
8.2 If the Customer cancels or reschedules with more than 48 hours notice before the scheduled start time, no cancellation fee will normally apply, unless otherwise stated at the time of booking for specific promotional or bulk bookings.
8.3 If the Customer cancels or reschedules with less than 48 hours notice, the Company reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee up to a reasonable percentage of the agreed service price to cover administrative and scheduling costs.
8.4 If the Customer fails to provide access to the Premises at the agreed time, or the visit cannot proceed due to the Customer's failure to meet the obligations set out in these Terms and Conditions, the Company may treat this as a late cancellation and apply a cancellation charge.
8.5 The Company reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a Booking due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, illness, equipment failure or transport disruption. In such cases, the Company will provide as much notice as reasonably possible and will offer an alternative appointment time. The Company will not be liable for any loss or inconvenience arising from such cancellations.
9. Service Standards and Results
9.1 The Company aims to deliver high standards of professional cleaning, but cannot guarantee that all stains, marks or odours will be completely removed. Certain substances, age of stains, previous cleaning attempts and the nature of the fibres may limit achievable results.
9.2 Drying times vary depending on ventilation, temperature, humidity and pile thickness. The Company may provide indicative drying times but cannot guarantee exact time frames. The Customer is responsible for ensuring adequate ventilation and care of the cleaned areas until fully dry.
9.3 The Customer should inspect the work upon completion. If the Customer is not present, the work will be deemed accepted unless the Customer notifies the Company of any concerns within 24 hours of the visit. Reasonable efforts will be made to address valid issues reported within this period.
10. Liability and Limitations
10.1 The Company will exercise reasonable care in handling Customer property and carrying out the Services. However, the Company shall not be liable for pre-existing damage, wear and tear, discolouration, loose threads, shrinkage or defects that become visible following cleaning.
10.2 The Customer acknowledges that certain fabrics and materials may react unpredictably to cleaning processes, particularly if they are old, worn, poorly fitted, previously damaged or have not been cleaned according to manufacturer recommendations.
10.3 The Company's total liability in respect of any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the Services shall, to the extent permitted by law, be limited to the lesser of the cost of repair, the cost of replacement, or the total amount paid by the Customer for the Services giving rise to the claim.
10.4 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit the Company's liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
10.5 The Company shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential or special losses, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of use, loss of opportunity or loss of enjoyment, arising from or in connection with the Services.
11. Health, Safety and Waste Regulations
11.1 The Company will carry out the Services in accordance with applicable UK health and safety legislation and will use cleaning agents that are appropriate for professional use.
11.2 The Customer must inform the Company of any health and safety risks at the Premises, including hazards such as loose wiring, uneven floors, hazardous substances, infestation or restricted escape routes.
11.3 Children and pets should be kept away from the work areas and equipment during the Service and until carpets and upholstery are fully dry, to reduce the risk of slips, trips or exposure to cleaning residues.
11.4 The Company will handle and dispose of any waste that arises directly from the provision of the Services in accordance with applicable environmental and waste management regulations. This may include the safe containment and removal of soiled water, minor debris extracted during cleaning and any disposable materials used.
11.5 The Customer remains responsible for the disposal of any general household or commercial waste unrelated to the Services, as well as for compliance with any local waste segregation or collection rules at the Premises.
12. Damage, Breakages and Complaints
12.1 Any damage or breakages allegedly caused by the Company must be reported to the Company as soon as reasonably possible and in any event within 24 hours of completion of the Services, supported where possible by photographs and a description of the incident.
12.2 The Company will investigate any reported damage and, where appropriate, may arrange an inspection. The Customer shall provide reasonable access for this purpose.
12.3 If a complaint relates to the standard of cleaning, the Company may, at its discretion, arrange a revisit to re-clean the affected areas where the complaint is considered valid and has been raised promptly.
12.4 Making a complaint does not grant the Customer the right to withhold payment in full where a substantial part of the work has been completed to a reasonable standard.
13. Insurance
13.1 The Company maintains insurance cover appropriate for a professional cleaning business operating in the United Kingdom. Details of cover can be made available upon reasonable request.
13.2 Insurance cover is subject to the terms, conditions and exclusions of the relevant policy. Any claim by the Customer that may involve an insurance claim must be reported to the Company promptly.
14. Data Protection and Privacy
14.1 The Company will collect and process personal data provided by the Customer for the purposes of managing bookings, delivering the Services, processing payments and handling customer service matters.
14.2 Personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws. The Company will take reasonable steps to keep such data secure and to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure.
15. Amendments to Terms and Conditions
15.1 The Company may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in law, industry practice, or the Company's business operations.
15.2 The version of the Terms and Conditions in force at the time of your Booking will apply to that particular Booking. Continuing to use the Services after changes have been published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms and Conditions for future bookings.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
16.1 These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
16.2 The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter.
17. General Provisions
17.1 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
17.2 No failure or delay by the Company in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall operate as a waiver of that right or remedy.
17.3 These Terms and Conditions, together with the specific details of your Booking, constitute the entire agreement between the Customer and the Company in relation to the Services and supersede any prior discussions, correspondence or understandings.
